Second Film

                                "Abstract"

    Me and my partner Karyme Delgato filmed and edited a short film named 'Abstract'. This film presents the issue of self-confidence and the ability to fit in. The main character has trouble fitting in which is why the film was named 'Abstract'. 

Filming-During the process of filming, I learned about the difficulties of acting like trying not to laugh and starting the act on time. I also learned to take more time while filming because we forgot to film the final scene of the film.

Editing-For this film I used iMovie to edit because I was not able to upload the clips into Adobe Premere in time before Thanksgiving break, but I was able to make do with iMovie. The next film will be a much better-quality film with better editing and audio.

Overall-I have learned a lot during this process, and I know what to improve on the next film. Take the time while recording and acting to make sure everything's right and to upload the clips earlier so I'm able to use the proper editing software. The next film will be a much better improvement from the last.

 

First Film

 Horror Film

Since the last blog, we have filmed a 1 minute horror film using various techniques and skills I have covered in previous blogs such as storyboarding, camera angles, and sound. We had a group of five people and we were assigned with these tasks.

It felt weird acting for my first time, it was awkward to act out all the scenes in silence and jus wondering if I looked bad or not. It definitely takes confidence to act well and with strong character. But it wasn't hard to act it was pretty easy but it is obviously some high quality top selling film, so I'm not going to be that good and it was the first film I've ever acted for, so I still think I did good for my first time.
 

The Process of Designing the Film

Preparation for the film was quite simple, my group assigned each other with specific roles to do and we prepared the storyboard quickly with stick figure and blue and red lines and filmed away after it was done. Then Zidane and Nick edited and adjusted the audio and that was it, the film was complete. It was quite a simple process for the first time but it was just a simple one-minute film.
